After TI5, former captain S4 rejoined Alliance from Team Secret, and in December, Alliance re-signed EGM to complete a reassembly of their TI3-champion roster. The team then won their first LAN back together, World Cyber Arena 2015, and was subsequently invited to the Shanghai Major. They then followed it up with first place at StarLadder Star Series Season 13 after playoff victories against Team Secret in the quarterfinals and against Team Liquid in the semifinals. In the finals, they faced Evil Geniuses in a matchup of the exact Alliance roster that had won The International 2013 against four of the five EG players that had won The International 2015 (the exception being Arteezy, who had rejoined the team to replace Aui_2000). After Alliance prevailed convincingly 2-0, LD proclaimed on commentary, "Alliance is back!".
